Anne Nicolas has announced the availability of the third alpha release of Mageia 2: "The
third development release, Mageia 2 alpha 3 is now available for tests.
This is the last alpha version so we really need your input now. Major
new features: ships with the latest stable release of kernel 3.2 -
amongst numerous bug fixes and features, the new kernel offers support
for improved virtualisation with Xen native support, improved
performance and a new subsystem such as a new iSCSI stack or NFC, and
better security with the Tomoyo framework; stable glibc 2.14.1; adopted
systemd for booting; KDE 4.7.97, GNOME 3.3.3. Note: Due to Dracut
migration, live CD uploads will be delayed until the end of next week.
Work is in progress on Draklive to fix this." See the release announcement and release notes for known issues and testing requests. Download: Mageia-2-alpha3-i586-DVD.iso (4,056MB, MD5, torrent), Mageia-2-alpha3-x86_64-DVD.iso (4,134MB, MD5, torrent).
