How to Install Ubuntu on MacBook and iMac dualboot with rEFIt

To install Ubuntu in dual boot on a Mac you will need to refit: the bootloader that allows you to select which operating system to start the ignition. Do this on a PC is very simple – dual boot Ubuntu automatically configures – Mac instead need a few more steps ..

1) Install rEFIt on the Mac OS X

2. Select the hard disk where to install Ubuntu and get access to details of Partition;
3. Click on the ‘+’ (which is under the partition scheme) to automatically create a new partition within the disk;

1. Select the partition you created and enter the size in GB in the right pane. You can also change the size of the partition with the mouse;
2. Inside the box size you choose free space ;
3. Apply the changes to end;

Assign a space immediately to Ubuntu. Trying to expand it later could be a very complicated.

3) Reboot with the Ubuntu LiveCD
